Directions to International Center

FROM BATON ROUGE / NEW ORLEANS.

You will be driving in on I-10.
Take the second Lafayette exit, which is EXIT 103-A. It is the intersection of I-10 and I-49 (also designated "US-167" and "Evangeline Thruway"). Take the second ramp, marked "South US-167 to 90 Lafayette".  This is a classic "cloverleaf" interchange--you will circle under I-10.
 
Proceed up to the seventh traffic light, a distance of about 2.2 miles, to Jefferson Street. There will be a Burger King on the left, across the intersection, and a filling station on the right. Turn right toward downtown, and proceed through the railroad underpass and 4 traffic lights.
 
Our building is the last building on the left before the 4-way stop, a tall, off-white stone building. The front door faces a statue on the lawn.

FROM HOUSTON / LAKE CHARLES

You will be driving in on I-10.
Take the second Lafayette exit, which is EXIT 101, marked "182 Lafayette Carencro".  Turn right onto University Avenue. Proceed about 2.5 miles, to Lee Avenue. At that traffic signal, turn left onto Lee. There will be a cemetery on the left far corner.
 
At the 4-way stop, go straight ahead on Lee Avenue, with our building--the tall, off-white stone building, on your left.

PARKING

Metered parking is available on both Jefferson Street and Lee Avenue (2-hour limit at a time), as well as the nearby cross streets.

Still more parking can be found in a metered lot behind the off-white brick restaurant (“Pop’s Poboys”) on the corner of Jefferson and West Convent, just across Jefferson Street from our building. Turn onto Convent Street at the restaurant, and turn right at the corner onto Buchanan Street, then immediately turn right again into the lot. Park at any of the metered spaces.

 

Longer-period parking is available for the International Center at the Parc-Auto du Centre-Ville parking garage at 121 East Vermilion Street at Polk Street. This is across Polk from Parc Sans Souci and one block down Vermilion from Don’s Seafood.
·         From Evangeline Thruway: turn onto Jefferson Street, go through the railroad underpass and
proceed to Vermilion. Turn left; the garage will be on the left.  Alternately, turn off of the Thruway at Sixth Street, two streets past Jefferson; Sixth Street becomes Lee Avenue. Turn right at Don’s Seafood. The garage will be up ahead on the right.
·         From Johnston: turn onto Vermilion. The garage will be three blocks up on the right.
 
Walking out of the garage after parking your vehicle, turn right and go one half-block up to Jefferson. Turn left and walk two blocks up to the International Center at 735 Jefferson Street. It is the three-story limestone building at the end of the block, with front doors facing the statue.
